Privacy Policy

How we handle the personal data you share with us.

This Privacy Policy explains how ScholarLabz ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects the personal data of visitors and scholars who contact us. We follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and, for visitors in Europe, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Who we are

ScholarLabz is a research mentorship service based at 12th Cross Road, near BDA Complex, Indira Nagar 1st Stage, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560038, India. For any privacy question, write to [email protected].

2. What we collect

  • Details you submit in our assessment form: your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, university (optional), research stage, research area and any message you write.
  • Details you share during mentorship: drafts, data files, synopses and other research material you choose to send us.
  • Messages you send by email or WhatsApp.

We do not collect payment card details on this website, and we do not use tracking cookies or advertising pixels on it.

3. Why we use it

  • To review your request and reply with a research assessment.
  • To match you with a mentor and deliver the mentorship you ask for.
  • To keep a record of our correspondence with you.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

4. Who else sees it

Form submissions are delivered to our inbox through FormSubmit, an email-forwarding service. Your details pass through their servers on the way to us. We also use email and WhatsApp to reply to you, so those providers process your messages. Your research material is seen only by the mentor assigned to you, and never shared with other scholars, institutions or publishers.

5. How long we keep it

Enquiry details are kept for up to 24 months. Research material shared during a mentorship engagement is kept for the duration of the engagement plus 12 months, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.

6. Your rights

You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Write to [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days. Under the DPDP Act you may also nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf, and you may raise a grievance with us before approaching the Data Protection Board of India.

7. Security

The site is served over HTTPS, access to enquiry data is limited to the ScholarLabz team, and research files are stored in access-controlled folders. No method of transmission is perfectly secure, so please avoid sending anything you consider highly sensitive by email.

8. Children

Our services are meant for research scholars and are not directed at anyone under 18.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
